Collapsed Bite

Imagine no teeth separating your upper and lower jaws. They would come closer together than they normally would, collapsing on each other. Many people have severe attrition of their teeth, making them smaller and allowing their upper and lower jaws to bite closer together. This is called a collapsed bite.

Get Your Bite Back

One of the biggest problems we address is something called a collapsed bite. This means that your upper jaw is coming too close to your lower jaw. This is typically caused by heavy attrition or missing back teeth. Without the proper height between your two jaws, you over close and ruin your front teeth. Other effects include jaw joint problems, lip biting, malnutrition, pain, and sensitivity to your teeth and gums.

Many times, a person that has a collapsed bite loses their sensory function of where they should be biting. We have a place where our teeth come together, we call it “home”.

At renew, we create a new “home” for the chewing, biting function of your teeth, while creating a beautiful cosmetic smile. All in one treatment plan.
